ALBA Farm / Family Harvest Day
ALBA, Agriculture & Land Based Training Association, creates greater economic opportunities for small farms while promoting ecological land management and healthy local foods.
Recent estimates indicate that approximately 28% of Monterey County’s population is engaged in agricultural field or processing work. The number of laborers varies from 70,000 to more than 110,000 during peak season. ALBA’s 9 month farmer training program provides up to 40 aspiring farmers with training in organic farm production, marketing, record-keeping, labor law, irrigation, food safety, pest management and numerous other topics related to operating a small farm business. ALBA is growing our next generation farming community to produce fresh food within a healthy and sustainable eco system. Visit their website to learn more about their unique farmer training programs.
