Thomas Farm

1690 Pleasant Valley Rd. Aptos, CA. 95002

Thomas Farm has been growing organic flowers and produce in Santa Cruz county since 1971, when they became instrumental in starting the sustainable organic farming movement. Back then, few people understood what organic farming was about. Challenged with finding places to sell their products, Thomas Farm along with five other organic growers founded CCOF in addition to starting the first farmers market in Santa Cruz County. As the organic food movement took hold, so did the expansion of new markets. Today the original farmers market they started in Aptos has inspired the growth of numerous farmers markets across the entire Bay Area. In 2006, Jean and Jerry retired and turned farming operations over to their son Josh and his wife Kari, where they continue to grow fresh produce and cut flowers year round in addition to a summer film camp for kids.
