Mireya’s journey in agriculture is rooted in a deep love and respect for the land passed down by her parents. Growing up in California, she spent her childhood harvesting and pruning grapes in Lodi, learning early on the profound lesson of giving to the earth to receive its bounty.

Today, she channels that lifelong wisdom into her 8th year of cultivating over 20 varieties of mixed vegetables, with a special fondness for vibrant purple crops like rainbow chard and purple cauliflower.

Her proudest achievement is leading the development of the Esperanza Food Hub, a collaborative distribution center connecting local small farmers with schools, restaurants, and small stores. For her, this hub is a labor of endless love, sweat, and creativity designed to build a world where abundance exists for everyone.

As a woman in agriculture, she champions a perspective of interdependence and fair resource distribution. She views farming as a daily masterclass in patience and natural processes, though she notes it requires immense behind-the-scenes effort and expense.
